More About Your Prescription

Click the different headings below to get more information:

Please allow up to 3 working days for your prescription to be prepared and signed by a doctor.
(This does not include weekends or bank holidays.)

Try to order your medication before you run out. This gives the pharmacy enough time to get your medicine ready.

You can request your repeat prescription 7 to 10 days before you need it.

If you need your medication sooner, please contact us – we may be able to help in special cases.

Your prescription will be sent electronically to the pharmacy you have chosen (this is called your nominated pharmacy). For more information about how to nominate a pharmacy please visit: Nominating a pharmacy

If you haven’t chosen a pharmacy yet, you can do this in the NHS App. Learn how to nominate a pharmacy: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/

If you don’t nominate a pharmacy, your prescription will be sent to Boots Pharmacy, Wood Lane by default.

If you do not have a usual pharmacy you can find your local one by visiting the NHS pharmacy finder website and entering your postcode Find a pharmacy – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

If after speaking to a pharmacist you feel your query has not been answered please submit a Blinx form.

If you have a question about your medication, your local pharmacy is the best place to start. Pharmacists are trained experts in medicines and can help with most queries. If needed, they will let you know if you should speak to a GP.

If you don’t have a regular pharmacy, you can find one near you using the NHS Pharmacy Finder:
https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy/find-a-pharmacy

If your question isn’t answered by the pharmacist, you can submit a BLINX online form to contact the practice.
